I really hope to do something with this blog -- like have people interested in what I say. Of course, so much has been written about glassware and collectibles, it is difficult to find something new to catch the public interest. My Past Wares site is featuring some of the unique items I have collected over the years and that are for sale at REPEAT BOUTIQUE, PAST WARES at Ruby Plaza. I hope I can promote sales at both of these stores and I would like to just share information I have gleaned from hours and years of internet research.

I have a special drink glass which was made exclusively for the Hawaiian Cottage restaurant in Cherry Hill, NJ by the Otagiri Co. The restaurant burnt down many years ago but I worked there as a bus boy back in 1965-66. The item is dark blue in color and has a hand painted Geisha Girl on it. The item stands seven inches tall. Any idea of it's worth?

Your best bet for getting an idea of the value would be to search the internet for similar items (does not have to be exact). The value could depend on the size and most definitely condition of the item. There was a person several years back who specialized in Hawaiian Otagiri items. He sold tiki mugs. Probably still does. Search for Tiki mugs and you may find his web site. Hope this helps.
